    Hi Joe,

Got a chuckle from your reply. Could be, maybe, I don't know?

Fish seem to have an afinity for hare's mask dubbing, which the gold ribbed hare's ear flash back is tied with. John Gierich writes a lot about hare's ear dubbing, he loves it too. A lot of guys have a lot of respect for peacock, so hare and herl is a great combination. The tail on this fly is rabbit body, not mask, but the rabbit hair has great movement.

Peter Frailey ties this bugger with hackle and calls it the Hare and Herl Bugger. His version has hackle. I would be tempted to call it the Hare and Herl Bugger No Hackle.

A lot of us read your features every time they are on, and Rick's also. So we are all familiar with you fondness for the #10 gold ribbed hares ear flashback. For that reason, if you want to call it a hare's tail nymph we will be fairly understanding. (It really isn't a nymph though.)

Hope things are going well for you and you are getting over the bad cold you have been fighting.

    Regards,

    Gandolf
