Gotta agree with Bill...shouldn't have hurt it...but we digress...I've been coveting some black squirrel...none around here where I am but they are where I have family....can't get them to "harvest" one for me...having said that...some of the prices I've seen above make me wonder why they would be worth that much vs a black rabbit???????
Oh, and a coincidence...just yesterday I saw a charcoal colored squirrel chasing away a red fox squirrel...never saw one around here...wonder what that was???? some sort of hybrid???.....sorry I digress again.....

The skin I have would make for some nice nymphs. The hair is black of course with a smidgen of brown sprinkled in here and there. Very nice.
I prefer squirrel for nymphs, it's just so spikey and buggy looking.
As for the black squirrel it's self, they were introduced here in Ohio at Kent State University years ago. They have since spread out. I haven't seen a fox squirrel here in my yard in about 4 years. I'm seeing grey's, black's, and the little reds. The bad thing about the black squirrels is that they are messing up the grey squirrel gene pool, and in some areas it's almost all black squirrels now.

I may be missing something here, but..
Why do you have to have a 'natural black' squirrel skin?
Is it that much better than the dyed ones?
Just asking, don't use squirrel except for the tails....
Buddy
It Just Doesn't Matter....
What is the objection to the dyed hair?
Dyed hair is all one color, natural you get various shades
