Ankeny Iowa DMACC Pond Trout
On Friday November 7th, the Iowa DNR stocked 1400 rainbow trout in the pond located on the DMACC campus in Ankeny. I didn't have a chance to go fishing this weekend but went out tonight after work. I had one trout on but the knot gave way. A short time later I caught the rainbow on a bead head Prince nymph size 12. A very nice fish.. see picture. I could have used a dry fly since they were chasing and hitting the strike indicator.
Temperature was 33 degrees F and there was some wind. There was a sheet of ice in the north bay area.
