    Default Fiver Rivers Blanks

Anyone have any experience with Dan Craft 10 ft., 5 wt., 4-piece fly rod blanks? I know Dan Craft Five River Blanks are great blanks. I just have heard nothing about the 10-footers. Are they heavy? Maybe pros & cons? You can PM me so as not to offend anyone.

If you have any concerns about Dan's blanks, just give him a call and ask him the questions posted here. Dan stands behind his blanks, and does not sell off-quality blanks. He will give you the straight skinny on any of his blanks.

I second that. I called Dan with an idea of what I wanted, and he got me into another blank that I wasn't considering. Needless to say, I really love the blank he set me up with. He knows his product line and gives excellent advice. His opinions are worth listening to also.

    Default Thanks on Dan Craft

I've always heard great things about his blanks. I'm looking for a light 10-ft., 5 wt., 4-piece, like I mentioned, but I'm afraid with all the ferrules it will seem heavy and bulky. I will call him.
    Thanks

Is this the rod you're going to put your first lathe turned grip on?

I had some very small business with Dan Craft. He treated me as though I was spending big money. He is a good guy and will steer you in the right direction.

I haven't tried the FT line, but I know it is the heaviest and fastest of Dan's 5 Rivers lines. The last one I got was a 6 piece 9' FTL 6 weight. It is the lightest 6 weight I've felt, and the ferrules are not noticable at all when casting or otherwise..
I compared it to an 8'6" Forecast 6 weight without guides, and my longer rod with guides and finish was significantly lighter than the other. And it casts beautifully. I like a mod/fast action, and this rod is perfect for me.
