    There was a thread here a couple years ago about plastic flies...should be some pics in it and plenty of ideas. We even did a swap of "forbidden" flies. I found a grub fly pattern to tie up.

    The Koosh ball thread had some interesting pics as well (for folks that want to tie their own).

    Mepps introduced a new minnow (the "Mister Mino") in 2", 4", and 6" sizes. The 2" should wok fine for fly fishing.

    To keep them on the hook, you can use bait-holder hooks with molded-in reverse barbs or tie your own reverse barbs (a bit of mono sticking out towards the eye along the shank with some thread propping it up works well enough).
