Hi folks,

I need some input from fellow fly fishers for a project my department is working on.

I work for the Department of Transportation & Public Works in Prince Edward Island, Canada. We recently did a major structure replacement on the Dunk River which saw the replacement of 3 derelict culverts with one large on that the entire river now flows through.

In doing this, the dynamics of the downstream end have greatly changed, for the better. A large deep pool is forming and we will be adding boulders to it to promote fish to hold.

It has been decided that we should make the downstream banks wheelchair accessible for fly fishing. We have all the technical specs for ramp gradients and the like, but need some practical suggestions on how to make it easy to fish for someone in a chair.

I have some ideas myself, but would like as many more as I can get.

The area will be about 100 feet long, the bank is about 3 feet above the water and about 15 feet below the roadway.

Any help I can get would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Steve Murphy
