knots

I like most have always used a improved clinch to tie on my flies. Yesterday while fishing I ran into another fly fisherman (which is rare around here) who was using a blood bights knot because he said that it allowed for more movement of the fly. I can see where this would be very good to use in warm water (we were fishing a small nieghborhood pond). Does anyone use this knot to do this I thought this was more of a knot for loop to loop attachments. If not what knot would you use to allow a little more "waggle" in your fly.

For poppers and big flies I like the Rapala Loop. Here are the instructions:

Looks cumbersome but once you practice you will find it easy to tie. Allows lots of movement for the fly and is very strong.

In almost all warmwater situations, I use the Rapala Loop Knot to attach my fly to the tippet. It will make a significant difference on how your flies perform, especially topwater flies.

Flies just work better if they can move freely.

Don't bother so much with trout..finer tippets and less finicky fish.

If you add a worm to the fly, it adds LOTS of wiggle. This one was taught to me by Joe of Joe's Worms & Juicy Grubbs & Special Protein Drink (available in smooth & extra chunky) and Furled Trot Lines.
