Well its sort of a different pattern. Last weekend I spent some time with my 18 year old daughter. She has flyfished some, but is not in love with it. She being 18 and me not being 18 always makes finding something to do in common somewhat difficult. We (she) came upon a great idea. We tied earings, using fly patterns or fly tying techniques. They won't catch fish, but they will catch the glances of others.

We used earing loops and for some we tied them on to hooks and cut off the hook, for others we bought silver wire with a loop on the end. We tied some using bunny strips and some using saddle hackle. We added a little crystal flash and a few non-fishing beeds and there you are! I also gave some to my other daughter for her birthday and she loved them. I might make some to sell for the heck of it.

It is a great way to connect with your teenaged daughter, or a nice way to spend an evening with your loved one. Also a great holiday idea.
