Last Thursday when the kid had been taken to school and the newborn taken to the doctor for his checkup my wonderful wife told me to take off and go fishing. I jumped at the chance and headed out. I wanted to try somewhere I had not been in a long time so I headed to lake Jocassee in the northern part of SC. When I got there noone was around and things looked just perfect. The problem was that I did not want to fish that much. I fished for about an hour and caught two little bass. After that I just sat for a while and watched the water. It was great! While I sat there I pondered is it the fly fishing I am after or the peace that follows a great day on the water. The trees were just starting to turn and there was a crispness in the air. I sat and I watched an old WWII mustang fly into the valley and drop into the valley and turn and fly out. The wind was comming form the west ever so slightly just enough to keep the sweat off of my head. The sky was clear with just a few high clouds. I took my shoes and socks off and waded out into the water and continued to fish the water was quite cool. So did I come to fish or just to ...

This time it was to just...

But next time who knows. That is what brings me back everytime I fish....................
