We headed down to the Everglades for a first trip of fall last week. We jumped the gun just a little. They've obviously had a heck of a lot more rain that we have just two hours north.

When we got there, we found the road under water for about 5 miles. Plus, the canals were flowing like rivers. Fishing was slow. Water needs to be down a couple of feet.

We caught a dozen bluegill and shellcracker and one small bass.

Think we'll wait until November to head back down.
