I'm a retired teacher, but I won't get into that discussion, however I will say a little about the foreign equipment issue. I have a dozen+ rods and reels, all but one of the reels was made in the USA, and all but three of the rods were made here also. The three made over seas are my favorites though. They were made in Italy.

Just another note. My forth favorite rod is a custom, built on a Shikari blank. Everyone I mention that to says, "Where are they, India?" No, in fact Shikari blanks are made in Kellyville, Oklahoma, USA. The blanks are pretty good too, very good in fact.
