I am off to a new location this weekend its deep in the forest of Guyana and only recently accessiable by road.I don't know if any one has even fly fished these lakes as yet, the locals use silver spoons, for peacock bass 6lbs (-), the waters are stained and about 6ft deep with reeds

wow, this sounds exciting. Please tell us the story when you return. What did you catch? What equipment and flies did you use? Sounds like you live in a wonderful part of our world.

Ten peacock bass 4+ lbs and 24 2-3 lbs, it was poor, they took a home made bucktail white with white round rubber legs, as i mentioned this area was not realy fly fished we had to use a trik the locals advised i.e. using the boat motor to beat up the shallow water grasses in the small lake then run out to the mouth of the lake and blind cast behind the motor. I was supprised we did not catch more than one piranha.

My plan this year is to continue trying new locations, I find its more rewarding to find the fish and tricks.
