    Default Ferrule Straightening

I have a cane rod that appears the ferrules were not aligned ( or loosened?) so that the two sections appear "dog-legged" when joined. I don't own a lathe but is there a way to realign after heating the ferrrules?

What is probably wrong is that the cane under and just below the ferrules is bent. It can be straightened but it's a delicate job. Too much heat and you cook the cane and the ferrules could come off. PM me and I'll try to walk you through the process as I've done this dozens of times.
