Our plans for our trip to the Broncos/Saints game in a couple of weeks are coming together. It looks like we will be starting the day Saturday, Sept. 20 in Colorado Springs and then working our way toward Denver by Saturday night.

My plan is to drive to the Deckers, CO area and fish the South Platte river on the way to Denver. I understand this area can get a bit crowded but this really seems to be the area that fits our plans best. My wife doesn't mind spending some time sitting at a picnic area or parking area and reading a book and then driving a ways to pick me up.

So does anyone have any specific suggestions as far as what stretches to hit, fly patterns to use, etc. for fishing this part of the South Platte? Thanks.
