Just a quick note regarding fishing on the Bighorn River. The flows on 8/25 were 2,880 cfs. The water clarity is about 8 foot visibility and there is a lot of suspended filamentous algae in the water which makes for a lot fouled lines and lost fish. The fishing is good (on a scale of one to ten, I would give it a six) on hoppers, hoppers with droppers, and dry flies (black CDC caddis, pseudocleons (22s), tan caddis (14)). I have been getting water temperatures of 56 to 58 in the morning and 62 to 64 in the afternoon. There are a lot of nice rainbows in the upper river but the crowds are problematic. The lower river is less crowded but warmer and murkier with smaller fish. I hope this helps.

Warm regards,
