Thread: What Sage rod line is being discontinued?

Question What Sage rod line is being discontinued?

In the Things For Sale section someone mentioned that Fli and another Sage line was being discontinued. Does anyone know which rod line other than the FLi is being discontinued? Will the two lines be replaced? This past year I bought 2 Fli rods, the 480-2 and the 890-4. Great rods.

Every one will be replaced at some point. Planned obsolescence. This is how they get you to buy more of their rods. You NEED to get that new FKJHETY rod, since you don't have one and it is NEW and IMPROVED!

Frankly I liked some of thier rods that are long gone, like the RPL and the LL.

It appears as if the FLi and the TCR are being discontinued. I can't wait to see what they replace the TCR with!!

Ray I am with you. I can't wait to try out the TCR's replacement. Over the years I have found myself more and more in sync with fast action rods. My two favorite series from Sage are the XP (now discontinued) and Z-Axis, but at times even they leave me wanting more.

Maybe a rod that actually casts a line weight that matches the rod weight ??

Seriously, I wonder if that rod proved too fast ( stiff ) to have a real market instead of just a niche ??

I am surprised that they are dropping the Fli. I really like mine, and a recent thread on that rod seemed to generate a LOT of positive comments about it, lots of support for it.
