    Default Bluegill flies

    Hello,
I would like to tie some simple flies using possum dubbing. I tied a couple ( caught some nice fish) and used them yesterday but they did not hold up well. Most of the dubbing ending up sliding down to the hook bend. I do not want to buy anymore materials just use what I have on hand. I would like to use some 12 and 14 hooks. I don't have any waxed thread. Is that why my flies did not hold up? Some of the materials that I have: maribou, chenile, peacock tail feathers, hackle, crystal flash. The gills seem to really like these fuzzy little flies. Can I get some ideas and tying tips. I have never used dubbing before.
