Mike,
I hope this doesn't arrive too late to help you out. I was down there two weeks ago and had some luck at the Propeller Slough and Marina Channel at the Oregon Inlet. I had a puppy drum, sea trout, and flounder all on a clouser minnow. One was chartreuse and white and the other olive and white. The OBX fly fishing board that was previously mentioned, is an excellent board for that area. The folks on that board are true FF bros. and sisters and are always eager to pass on some tips for a fellow FFer. Mornings, two hours before and two hours after high tide seem to be the best. Surf fishing was not too productive due to the tides but was fun anyway.
Have at 'em,
Rev. Mike
