I've been researching various techniques for dealing with winding conditions and casting. I know we have few members here who live in Iowa and know what the winds can be like!

I've read the using roll cast, hauls, lowering your rod tip(kind of a side-arm cast) and other methods help dealing with strong wind conditions. And if one has away of changing where they are located in respect to the wind directions, is it better to have the wind at your back or in your face as far making it easier to cast with winding conditions.

Is there one technique better then others when casting with strong winds? Does using a shorter rod help?

Thx's
