Betty what weight is that rod and have you got to fish it yet, and if so what do you think of it?

I've been considering buying one of the completed Elkhorn bamboo rods.

    Bill,
The Elkhorn blank is a 7'6" 5#. It casts like a dream! I finished it right after it was given me (*re:FAOL inscription), and fished it. It looked OK in the light of my table, but when I got out in the sunlight, I saw so many flaws in my work ... I was embarrassed to have anyone see it ( oh, OK ... so I'm OC and AR!!!!). I just completed stripping it all down and totally reworking it (told you! OC/AR) and will be taking it with me to the fish-in. It's a dandy rod! And I would highly recommend them!

GBF ... at the time I received this blank, I was still only known as Betty Hiner. The HRH was awarded me at a later date. Any rods built after that date will carry the HRH designation!!

You mean I STILL have a chance one day to own an original "HRH Betty Hiner"?? How much fudge, money, begging, etc will one have to bestow upon your?

Beautiful work Betty! Thanks for sharing the pics.
