I have just returned from a trip to the Bitteroot valley, I was a week late for the Salmon flies last year and a week too early for then this(must save up for a lear jet!!) but if you find the softer water on the West Fork of the Bitteroot you will pick up fish, ok you will be using a nymph but I caught an average of 8/9 per day, not big but enough to put a bend in the rod and I like catching Whitefish being a Grayling fisher back here in the UK I can appreciate their worth. The Blackfoot and Clarkfork are really unfishable due to the rain and the snowmelt. But there is a sting to this tale I did get a "log" a 20 3/4 Brown I will post a pic when I can fathom how to convert MAC to PC, so best of luck to you Blokes, tight-lines
