I fished Oak Creek canyon over thanksgiving a few years ago. It was decent. I caught a lot of small rainbows on tiny mayfly imitations and a few somewhat respectable brown trout. The biggest was around 17". I did see one brown that would have been near 20" but it spooked before I could get a cast off. It's pretty much a put and take fishery and it's not that cool. Access is OK, there is a streatch that is private but I fished through it and no one bothered me even though I was spotted.

It's a beautiful place to fish and I'm not shure how recent floods affected the fishery. I read that there was E. coli and other bacterial things in there as a result of the floods so don't drink the water. There is web page about fishing in AZ and I checked it out before I went. When I go back I will not waste the money on a fishing license and enjoy the scenery instead.
