I haven't read this entire thread, but will throw my 2 cents in. I was a lifelong Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres fan. After four Superbowl losses and the infamous triple overtime "no goal" Stanley Cup final loss to the Dallas Stars (Believe it or not, I still see bumper stickers and other "No Goal" signs around, 9 years later!), I gave up watching ALL sports on TV. Not just the local teams, but all. I'll still watch the superbowl to be sociable, but other than that, nothing. Why? I got too emotionally involved with the losses. I would actually get depressed after big game losses. If I could seperate myself, emotionally from that, then I'd still watch and follow the local teams, but I can't, so I don't. And ya know what? I don't miss it one bit. Besides, with two little kids, I don't have the time to spend 5 or six hours on a Sunday afternoon glued to the TV.
