    Default Snowshoe Flies

Having just got hold of my first snowshoe feet (which is just like a kid with a new toy) I was wondering if you do or do not use floatant on these. Any help much appreciated

I will still give me SS flies a brush full of Frogs Fanny for good measure. They will eventually take on water and start to sink even with the treatment.

I treat the Snow shoe hair like I would CDC. No paste floatant, then some 'frog's fanny' once they get water logged. Great for early run off fishing, after a dunking the water logged SS can be dried with a few false casts and it floats again.

The curly nature of the fibers can be hard to work with. I use a small moustache comb to comb it out nice and neat before cutting a clump off the hide.
