Default Atlantic Canada Salt Water Fly Fishing

Anyone tried it (aside from sea trout), if so how'd you go about it and what were you fishing for?

Last time I went to Nova Scotia I brought a salt rod, hoping to find some stripers.
    ..All I caught were mackerel

Not to fond of putting the fly gear in the salt water but I have gone striper fishing a few times with no luck. I have caught cod in the Bras D'or lakes(salt water) in the spring on the fly and I hear of people catching mackerel on the fly.
