Default Trying the 6' SPG721 need spacing for guides

I am trying to build the 6' 5wt based on the SPG721 fiberglass blank. I can find the guide spacing for everything from 7' or more for fly rods but I can not find anything for smaller rods. Does anyone have a breakdown of the guide spacing for a 6'?

    Thanks,

    Don

This is just a starting point, you should do a static test to fine tune.

Guide Distance from tip 6', 5 Weight

    Guide 1 = 4.5 inches
    Guide 2 = 9.5
    Guide 3 = 15
    Guide 4 = 21
    Guide 5 = 27.5
    Guide 6 = 34.5
    Guide 7 = 42

    Number of guides 7

and an alternate recommendation using 8 guides can be found at the following.

I can vouch for the St Croix spacing on that blank. I used the spacing from the St Croix charts and I think my 721 casts great.

I decided to do it with the St. Croix setup and have it drying after the final coat of finish right now. I am heading to Wisconsin tomorrow for a week of fishing so I will try to provide a little feedback on how well it worked.

Thanks for the input and pointing me in the right direction!!

The crappie were hot and heavy through out the week and the rod performed really well. It took a while to get used to the softer feel of a medium weight because I had only used fast or extra fast rods before. Once I got my timing right it worked like a champ. Since I only had a few days to complet the rod, it was finished in a very simple pattern with no florishes. Now that I'm back, I might consider dressing it up a little but I'm not too sure I need the extras.
