I enjoyed the fly of the Week -Fox's Scud.
Very interesting, now can someone tell me the latin name for Scud?

The Latin for Scud is Pannus.
Scuds are amphipods i.e. belong to the Order Amphipoda. There are about 175 or so amphipod species in N. America which means there are about 175 latin names for scud. So as close as you will get to *the* latin name is "amphipod". Hyalella and Gammarus are 2 very common and widespread genera.
Thank you very much.
The reason I asked , is that 'scud' is not a word we use here in the UK.
At least I did not know it, except from American trout info.
We have 'freshwater louse' (asellus) and 'shrimp' (gammarus).
