RRhyne56,

Just another note to say thanks for posting the link to this video. I tied up some Cap Spiders and finally got a chance to try them this evening. When I launched my kayak, I tossed the Cap Spider out about three feet from the boat to see the actoin of the legs in the water. It hadn't sunk more than a foot or so when nice fat, 10 inch bluegill came up out of the gloom and sucked it in. That set the tone for the evening. I spent about two hours playing with the bluegill and shellcrackers with a couple of 14-16 inch bass thrown in. I ended up catching about 20 fish with one nice 13 inch shellcracker and several 10 to 12 inch fish in the mix.

Nice pattern! Easy and fun to tie and the fish like it too! When I was a kid, I was always excited to catch a keeper. Now I get excited finding a keeper pattern and the Cap Spider certainly fits the bill.

This video is a nice tribute to Mike Verduin where he continues to teach and share with people who never had a chance to meet him.

Thanks again for sharing.
