    Default black and orange stimulator pic.

    i was taking pics of some flies with my wife's new camera i liked this shot and thought i would share . this is a black and orange stimulator tied this winter.

    I was looking for an indicator fly after my last outing produced more hits to my orange indicator than my many offerings of nymphs and streamers. That looks like what the doctor ordered. Cool pic too.

    thanks for all the nice reply's. the camera is a nikon D200 with a stock lens. the pic was taken using 2 blank pieces of paper for back ground and my tying lamp for lighting.

    also i use stimulators for indicators all summer long. thats why i love the pattern so much. i tie several in all colors and sizes just to hang my dropper .

    Ben -

    Throw that thing in the water during the salmonfly hatch and it will indicate a big cutt, bow or brown just attached itself to the end of your leader.

    I love an Orange Stimulator in #6 or 8 to imitate a wasp under wasp nests in bank bushes down here in Alabama. Add a dropper that looks like a wasp larvae or a Black Gnat or hares ear variant and "Hang on to your rod"!
