    Default OK which Wading Stick?

Courious as to what everyone uses...me? None So far but have strongly considered adding one.

My local shop has 2 choices: 69.00 for, I forget what and 159.00 for a Folstaff (sp?)...both seemed a bit excessive for a folding stick...am I missing something?

Depends on what you want and budget. I got one at Walmart for $25. that works great.

I use a Folstaf, but before that I carried a ski pole

Have thought about a ski pole as well.

Look like the Folstaf must be coming down a bit.

Aside, Dudley, ever fish the Brandford River?

No , but years ago my buddy's family had a cottage in Pine Orchard
We spent our time fishing the salt

Wooden broomstick from Home Depot, with hole drilled near one end to accept a cord loop. Will take my full weight on it without collapsing. Doesn't klank against rocks. Bottom gets chewed up by rocks, etc, which makes it almost nonskid. Who needs a folder? Bargain at twice the price.

    Brhoff,

I highly recommend the folstaff. I picked up a 58" long, 3/4" diameter one for $85 including shipping. Best insurance policy you can buy. Nice wading staff. Having a staff shouldn't be a license to do stuff you wouldn't normally do or go places you ought not to be. I know you'll use your head regardless of the staff you choose, just be smart and be careful. Having a staff is a nice thing, but don't get over confident.

I know of two so far who have gone for an inexpensive one. Both got the one from Cabalas. Both lost money as they broke on them,,,(when they actually needed one) and both then bought the Folstaff. We travel some, so we both use them as they are dependable and pack well.

This is the one I use. Granted I am not a big strapping guy, but this works great for me an has saved my BUMB, literally, many times.
Plus I like the holster when I don't need it.
