Thread: Miscellaneous Section

  1. #1

    Default Miscellaneous Section

I have added a 'Miscellaneous' section to my front page.
This is a collection of pages I have used to post various
flies and information in the past.
This was an excercise to try and overcome the deteriation
of my eyesight, as well as a tidy-up on the web-site.

Donald, for the life of me, I can't see what you like in those pictures. Why don't you send them to me for a better look?

Just curious, are all those books from a personal library? This is a great addition to your site.

I have just realised that the way I show "Miscellaneous" on my front page
is a bit misleading. Click on "Miscellaneous" and it will take you too some pages
I used for posting on various BBs.
As to "Books" and "Pictures" (separate clickable sections) ,
he books are all in my private collection
and the pictures are all just copies of pictures from various sources, that I like.

I have just edited the Front Page of my site accordingly.

    Hi Donald,

Had a quick tour through the Misc pages. Some nice stuff. I really like the look of the blue spiders, and the blue dun. The one's using the light blue Uni thread. A shame they discontinued that colour.

    Hi Jeff,
    Uni-Thread 6/0 Thread Light Blue
I had a look at several on-line suppliers over here
and it is still avaialable, also saw it recently in a local
    tackle shop.
I would have thought, with your Canadian contacts,
you would have no problem obtaining some.

    Hi Donald,

I thought I had read here that the colour was discontinued, so I've not asked my brother to look for some! However, if it's still on offer I'll ask him to have a look. Thanks for letting me know! I've never seen it here.

    Jeff,

If all else fails, I may have a spare spool of the Uni light blue. Don't know if it 6/0 or not. I'll have a look just in case.

Thanks REE. I'll be travelling to Canada next year, and will even be in the UK for a bit, so I'll be picking up a few spools of threads and tinsels that are hard to find here while on that trip. Come to think of it, since it's not been discontinued, I should be able to order it on line. I tend not to do much on line buying as I like to support my local shop, and try and give them a chance to order stuff in if I mention it to them.

I was told by a fly shop that the color was discontinued and I saw it disappear from one on-line catalog after another. I posted here that it had been discontinued. Cumberland Transit, in Nashville, did have a number of spools as they had purchased a box or two of that color before it went away. Next time I'm in there, I'll check and see if they still have any.
