to me, there's nothing more soothing than a mourning dove's call, late afternoon, in summer.

Along with the sound of the Dove is a flock of Geese o/head. I just have to stop and watch.
I have Doves nesting in the trees outside my bedroom windows from now untill october, Love the sound but it gets old quick. My wife on the other hand would gladly shoot them if she could. The Geese are a year round pain in the posterior here. fish and game spray the eggs with vegitable oil to keep them from hatching to keep the population down. but I agree when they go over I have to stop and watch.

We have a flock of Mourning Doves that dine in our yard (Thanks to the feed put out for them by VEE) and wait patiently for their meal by cooing in the morning and evening. A very pleasant sound that I never tire of.
Geese honking overhead also make me stop and look. I always wear a hat and keep my mouth shut though.
