I had to laugh when I read this. Reminds me of an incident a few years ago. Some friends moved here from New Mexico where they had grown up and lived all their lives. They were enthralled with the large flocks of geese that feed in the stubble fields around here, which they had never seen before. One evening on their way home they stopped the car and got out with camera and binoculars to observe a particularly large gathering. About the time they got positioned, the flock decided to take off, making a large wheeling turn and then come straight for them. Gaining altitude and ejecting ballast all the way. That ended their fascination with geese.
