Another technique that I sometimes use is to take a piece of large plastic bead chain and cut off two beads. Use a pair of forceps to hold the beads by grasping the thread that holds the beads togther. Now, heat one bead over flame until it is soft. Immediately press it down on a smooth flat surface to flatten it. Do the same with the other bead. You can now tie in the flattened beads on like bead-chain. The flattened beads give you a good surface to glue eyes on without adding too much weight. This technique works well when you're trying to add eyes to deer hair patterns and other bulky materials that tend to hide the eyes or do not allow you to glue eyes on very well.
