    Question A couple questions

    1. How many of you guys clip out the center of a turkey flat when setting it up as a wing post ?
    2. What is the most practical way to "flatten" the hair wings for attaching eyes on your salt water flies that will avoid getting "goo" all over your fingers ?

    I can reply to the second..
    Ray I don't know what type fly you're tying or what type of eyes you're working with, but with many flies you would coat the head area with an initial application of epoxy (or your glue of choice) while holding the hair down by the tips,
    and then in a second step, glue the eyes to the head area

    To do that;
    Put a dab of glue (I use Goop) where you want the eye to be
    Have the eye face down on your bench
    With the slightest touch of the glue on your bodkin,
    touch the bodkin to the rear of the eye and use the bodkin to pick it up and slip it into place.
    (with stick-on eyes, just pick them off the card with your bodkin)
    Push and hold the eye into place with your thumb

    It takes some practice
    Hope this helps

    i build up an area on top and on bottom of the head with knot sense and cure it with the light and repeat until the desirable size is complete--its pretty viscous so it stays there til you cure it---then i use stick on eyes and put a coat over the whole head and eyes--cure that and wipe with alcohol and coat with hard as nails---pretty durable head in 2 minutes or less !

    if i dont want a clear head ---ill wrap the built up acrylic with thread to get the "color" close to the surface and then stick the eyes on and finish

    i made an epoxy fly rotator and now i never use it
