I have managed to have a look (eyes*&$%?!*) at the the FOW Yellow
Sally. A very nice fly, I Have some of those very beads.
I did not realise there was a small Yellow Sally Stonefly in the USA.
It is a quite well-known fly over here.
I am sure I have posted a UK version of it but it is buried in my
PC somewhere. Here is a traditional North Country spider which
would simulate a Yellow Sally.
Yellow Legged Bloa or Indian Yellow
Hook :- 14 or 12.
Tying Thread :- Primrose yellow or deeper yellow (Pearsall’s No. 3 or 5).
Hackle :- Pale yellow hen or yellow hen with a greenish tinge.
Body :- Well waxed yellow silk; it should achieve a greenish yellow shade.
The fly may also be given a little dubbing of pale olive seal’s fur behind the hackle. (Golden olive fur used)
