    Default New rod coming

    I sent the funds for this rod last week and will be receiving it soon. There was only one flaw and that is a stripping guide foot sticking out of a wrap. I thought that this would not be a problem when the time comes to rewrap it. Other than that the rod looks to be in very good condition for its age. It also has both tips.

    Really KEWL!!! Love the wraps! Just posted a thread about replacing only one wrap, and that's what I'm going to do on my newly acquired rod. Any ideas where to find the variegated thread?

    Just did some searching ... Mudhole has the Gudebrod threads in the silver/color and gold/color for about $4.00 a spool!! Size "C". Is that too big for a fly rod?

    I bought several different spools of Size "A" varigated threads from Hook & Hackle back in January when they were at our show. Give Ron a call and see if he has any left. I know he was closing it out.

    If he's out of it or you just want enough for the repair, I have the following which I can send you, and just send the remainder back to me;

    Gudebrod Classic Twist #521 blk/wht

    Gudebrod Classic Twist #521 blk/scarlet

    Gudebrod Classic Twist #521 blk/drk grn

    E-mail me at flyfishohio@yahoo.com if you would like me to send it out. I can get it out tomorrow.

    Betty,

    Just starting the bamboo journey. You can find the thread at some of the major tackle building distributors. Like Golden Witch, Anglers Workshop and the likes that have goods for bamboo rod building or restoration. If you cant find the color you need there are some classic antique rod merchants that also sell the genuine retro colors (pricy!). Hopefully some one else can chime in and list their websites.

    good luck,

    I forgot how much you liked varigated wraps. I believe your also a fan of craft foam. See you on the dark side.
