It wasn't too long ago that we had a number of threads about the foot or so of the fly line that sunk, taking the leader butt down with it. It bothered me so much that I cut the offending end off some of my lines and didn't miss them at all! Others had less drastic remedies. Anyhow, I see where line companies (at least Cortland and Rio) are now producing lines with tips that are only 60% of the weight of water. That should make them float all the way to the end. Has anyone used them? I wonder if our complaints had anything to do with companies "going for it". Wouldn't surprise me at all...we were pretty rough on them.
