The fish looks like a bluegill to me.

as for the bug I agree with the assumption of it being a dragonfly nymph.

Fish looks like a green sunfish; bug - dragonfly nymph.

The fish is a shellcracker/sunfish. The bug looks like a dragonfly nymph. Where I fish, the shellcrackers get up to 2lbs and I've seen some pushing 3lbs. They are awsome eating too.

Definitely a dragonfly nymph, we call those sort "mudeyes." What do you call them?

I don't think this is bluegill. The bluegill that come out of this creek look like this:

The bluegill and this fish have a different shape to them. Also, the unidentified fish has a mouth that opens bigger than a bluegill's. I'm leaning toward either a green sunfish or a hybrid between multiple bream species. I don't think it is a Redear/Shellcracker because they are shaped the same as a bluegill, but they have the reddish orange border around the black on their gill cover.

As for the bug, I looked it up and it definitely is a dragonfly nymph. Thanks for helping me on that.

Well, according to the Tennessee ID website, it looks like a Redbreast to me. It had more of an orange color to it that other redder Redbreasts I have caught in swampy water before. It doesn't look like a Green Sunfish to me from the picture posted. I don't think it is a hybrid with a Rock bass because I have never heard of a rock bass being caught around here. Thanks for the help.

I don't know about the bug...or the sunfish. I found this nice identification sequence but I could not narrow it down. Maybe you can.
