I have an Okuma Helios. It's a pretty good reel (I use it for smallmouth bass and steelhead), not fantastic, but pretty good. It has a nice, smooth drag system, but it's pretty touchy. One crank too far, and it tightens right down, or it loosens right up. That said, I'm not looking to replace it. I've figured out the drag, and it works quite well now that I have a handle on it. It does take a lot of punishment! In fact, I dropped it twice onto a concrete floor yesterday while cleaning out the basement. Other than a little chip, all is fine!

If I had to buy another reel, I'd probably look at the Orvis Battenkill Mid-Arbor reels. I have a BBS II in a 3/4 wt. and I love it! I've used it to land a few steelhead that surprised me in some of the smaller creeks I fish. It's a great reel.

Good luck,
Andrew
