P.S. John and EZ those aren't cohos on Big Elk. Cohos and silver salmon are the same. The salmon of the Big Elk are Sockeye, known in the lower 48 as Kokanee. No matter what they are they're great fun to catch! Tight lines.

Hi John,
Great to see the new rod in action and producing some results already. All waters are frozen over in my neck of the woods, but I see you don't lack for the snow! Happy New Year!

This will be my last post on this thread. I'm going to continue posting regularly on my fishing outings, and maybe some hikes, but they will be under a new thread titled " '09 Elkhorn Bamboo Challenge."
I've certainly enjoyed creating this thread and several others on this Forum over the course of '08, sharing some good times and beautiful places with you all, and participating in the discussions they generated on a variety of subjects.
Hope you all enjoy going along on my '09 outings.
John
The fish are always right.
I sure have enjoyed fly fishing vicariously on your waters John and I'm looking forward to 'being there' in '09 when your beauty Elkhorn presents you with a 30" brown !
Best of luck in the coming year !
