I generally use five turns. Cinch it down from the free tag end and then from the main line until tight to the hook eye. If I ever get some friction that I don't want when tying any knot, I add a little water, spit, or other lube to reduce the friction and the knots tend to behave better for me. Then grip the knot and pull it away from the hook eye to adjust the loop if so desired.
