We recently got the Special Collectors Edition of Brave Heart. Last night I watched it for the second time. What a great movie! I know a little bit about the history of the period in Scotland and England but not near enough. The movie has whetted my interest.

I know that Mel Gibson is known for getting the historical details correct but in the companion disc for this set even he says there were places where theatrical liberties were taken. I wonder if our friends from across the pond would be willing to share their feelings and insight on this movie.

The way I understand it the legend of William Wallace is almost like the legend of King Arthur only we know for certain that Wallace existed and did fight for freedom from King Edward 1st "Longshanks". Is there any reading out there about this incredibly brave man, William Wallace and his followers?

Love the movie. Mel Gibson is great!
