...not a bad storm. Just bad enough to mess up the roads for a little while:
Only 3-4 inches of snow then 1/4-1/2 inch of ice, some rain and then ending with snow flurries. Weak Nor'easter that I did not have to drive in. Ha, Ha.

Damn, I miss those eastern storms....LOL
Out west here in the mountains when it snows it SNOWS so to speak. I think we got 2-4 feet of the new white stuff in the past week or so. It'll be good for spring run off but I hate working in it. It's well past my waist now and I was wading through all day today. I was stuck more than I was actually riding my skidoo. THe thing is when we get alot of snow at once snow shoes are basically useless till it sets up hard enough to keep you up. ( either wind pack or it gets warm and re freezes) We don't get a good crust like the freezing rain back east gives, just alot of powder.

What you cannot see here is probably the most damaging part of the storm. Sustained winds exceeded 45-50+ mph with gusts to well over 65-70 mph for almost 24 hrs. With all that ice on the trees there were power outages everywhere.
It used to be that a Nor'easter was going to pack sustained hurricane force winds, dump up to 5-6 feet of snow and may last several days. They still do this, 1993 & 1996 come to mind, but not as often as they used to. No, we do not miss them.
People still flock to the stores and buy up all the milk, bread and egg's though...I guess, for just in case we do get a real nor'easter. Glad that one's past...and I did alot of driving in it...Ran out of fuel and spent every last cent we had to get things warm in here again...Thank the lord for Pay Day!!!!! Going tomorrow to get more fuel to hold us off till the Thumb Tax money hits our account....
Wish ya great fishing,Bill
