    Default Umpqua Steelies

I've been hearing reports of Winter steelhead in the umpqua system. I looked in the fish ladder at the Winchester dam today and it was just busting full of big feisty wild steelies. Not a fin clipped in the batch. I quickly went home an put myself on the river for about an our or so before it got dark. I will be out there early on Friday.
    Montana Moose, you feelin me?

    Default Oh yeah !

Am I ever ! Every time I do the park walk I see fishers in boats hooked up and a lot of rigs with trailers parked there so it's on ! Can't wait till Friday...got new line, furled leader, new flies...whoa..I think I'm ready. any bumps the other evening? Where'd you go, to the island?

    Cheering for Friday,
