Just back from a weekend at Great Barrier Island in the Hauraki Gulf, line fishing for Snapper, Kahwai, Trevaly and anything else with fins. The fishing would best be described as awesome, lots and lots of good snapper and trevaly and fantastic weather for the whole weekend. Water was up to about 22 degrees celcius so had some lovely swims as well.
Gave the new softbait rods a bit of a workout, they are fantastic, almost as good as fly fishing.
This trip was so good that we have already booked for the same weekend next year, anyone fancy a trip to N.Z.?
All the best.
Mike.
