I am thrilled your article was published!

I'm one of few to own a beautiful birchbark reel seat and grip, and I've got to say, it is beautiful. Every time I have used the rod, I get may, many compliments.
Trouts don't live in ugly places.

Mike, were you at Great Waters last year? Someone had some birch bark handles and man were they gorgeous. Wow. JGW

    Default Gotta try it

The Powerfibers article on birchbark grips was an excellent piece of work. I gotta try it on my next rod.

One of Mike's grips and reel seats. When my wife gives me my allowance, maybe I'll be able to get a blank worthy of this grip/handle.
This has not been treated with anything. I will give it several coats of Tru-Oil, which will probably darken the birch bark.
