Fly line size
i have a montague flash i redone with new guides & all........what is the line weight of the rod sposta be ? no indication on the rod as fat as size of line..... i have a heddon #19 that i use which uses a c or gbg weight line & i use that rod..... the montague flash feels like it has a lighter action to it compared to my heddon, could just be me.....
The only thing I know to do is try different line weights starting with the lightest and going to the heavyest. Just my 2 cents
I have a flash that I inherited from my father. It's taken a long time to decide that it was meant to be used. I read on a bamboo board that they are probably a 6-wt. I measured mine with the CCS and it has an ERN of 7.4 and an AA of 60. I think the ERN is a little high. The handle didn't fit my fixture well and not wanting to damage the cork, I didn't tighten it down real hard. I would start with a WF-6-F and see how it loads.
