I first started FF'ing for trout about 9-10 years ago....and the first day I spent tossing flies to redhorse suckers, because I thought they looked like trout (really, they kinda did). It took me a few years to get it right, and remember, I've been warmwater FF'ing almost since I was born (I'm now 54). For what its worth, I've now payed my dues, and if I'm not catching fish on our local rivers, usually no one is, and you might as well go home and mow the lawn. But it bears out what Lady says, you have to pay your dues. Yeah, you can get help and shorten your journey, but, ultimately, you are the one who decides whether or not you are successful.
