I view it as an enjoyable way to waste time and money.

I thought it was funny the "methodist" thing anyway.
    Good night all. Getting late.

    Ledwater,

    Why do you fly fish
I think we all have our own reasons. Further, throughout this life long pursuit, the "reasons" might change (evolution of the species)

I USED to for the solitude.

Now I do to be with the family.

"I have golf for that....." WHAT!?!?!

I NEVER engage in an activity that considers the WATER to be a HAZARD!!

Fly fishing for me is a different path than many of my contemporaries up here in North Dakota. While many pursue walleye, pike and other game fish by trolling spinners or crankbaits each summer, I'm more content to fish bluegill, crappie or bass on the fly. I don't do it to be different, but I do it because it is different, a break from "normal" fishing here in ND.

Golf?? Stress relief????? everyone I know who golfs don't call it stress relief, many unprintable thinks, never stress relief.
There are two very challenging courses here, Green river, and Rock Springs, so I am told. I never developed a desire for cow pasture pool as my father called it.
Besides, the Wyoming wind causes me enough problems when I'm fishing!!

P.S. Marco, offer stands, call me if you get out this way!

It is the very definition of ones' soul. Fly fishing, along with hunting, isn't really a hobby or pastime, or sport for me. It is who I am. I could no sooner survive without the aforementioned two then I could without breathing.

It is not what I do, it is who I am.

    Enough of the serious stuff..............

I am certain that God fly fishes. I attend the outdoor church as often as possible.
